The Detroit Lions have returned to the cover of Sports Illustrated. After their amazing start to the season last year, the Lions made the cover of Sports Illustrated when wide receiver Calvin Johnson was featured with a picture of him scoring a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. Now, both Johnson and quarterback Matthew Stafford are on the cover, which is regionally based for the magazine's NFL preview issue. Check it out (via @SInow):
If you are interested in the Lions' history of being on the cover of Sports Illustrated, check out our post from last October when the team last made an appearance on the cover. It includes a rundown of the Lions' previous appearances in the last couple decades, a few of which involved Barry Sanders. Now, the Lions have had two covers involving Megatron in less than a year.
