A open Letter to Steve Sabol. May he rest in peace

Steve Sabol the president of NFL films and the son of founder Ed Sabol passed away from brain cancer at the age of 69. Thoughts go out the the entire NFL family that his passion and work has touched and effected.

Dear Mr. Sabol, Words can not describe how the work of you and your father have effected the entire world. NFL films has done more the most popular sport in America than any single player or coach ever could have. The legend or Lombardi would only be a Hall of Fame coach if it hadn't been for the mystic ora that you helped create around him. I can still hear the voice of John Fachenda as he bellows out fantastic poem.

The Autumn wind is a pirate
Blustering in from sea
With a rollicking song he sweeps along
Swaggering boisterously.

His face is weather beaten
He wears a hooded sash
With a silver hat about his head

And a bristling black mustache.

He growls as he storms the country
A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold.

The Autumn wind is a Raider
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.

Today the Autumn wind reflects and celebrates your astounding career. As weird as it sounds I remember the day I heard that Steve Sabol had said the audio on Matthew Stafford against the browns might be the best peace of audio in NFL films library. As I die hard Lions fan sir I took your quote to heart. At that point I knew the Lions had the man they needed. Your hard work and years of dedication have brought the game we all love to millions. I can watch on twitter today as men like Tony Gonzalez pay respects and thank you for introducing them to football. Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Joe Greene, LT, Jerry Rice. You filmed them all and while maybe not during the best games they ever had. But your films made us feel as if they were inhuman made from the things that had build greek gods. NFL films helped give children men to look up to, Entertained and captured millions. Most importantly of all you made great films and every single one should make your family proud. Who dose not love a good NFL bloopers film?

Thank you Mr. Sabol for well more than a decade or great works. Your legacy lives on through some of best sports film that will better be made. While you will never the recognition of men like Peyton Manning or Joe Montana. Rest assure those who truly know your contributions to the sport. Will always hold you in the high regard you deserve among the best in the game has ever had to offer.

Rest in peace Steve Sabol you will be sorely missed by fans, the game, and the players.

Thank You
