If we can stay healthy - I don't think our secondary is all that bad - and will only get better.
At safety, Coleman is legit. Wendling is better in coverage this year. Spievey might be coming into his own. Silva seems legit as a no. 5 in the position group. If Delmas can stay healthy ?
At corner, I like Bentley all the way around. Will he get beat ? Sure. He'll probably also make some plays too. Lacey might be a decent nickleback. Barnes is big and can turn and run - the guy is still somewhat raw. Green can really turn and run ! - if he can only learn to make some kind of a play on the ball ? Green's ability to learn to make a play on the ball might happen faster than we think, in which case, he'll be a steal as a 6th round pick.
We may still have something in Greenwood - for next year at least.
If we pick up Florence, Florence is a savvy vet that won't cost too much and could be great for us as like another nickel / dime back.
Houston is legit - pay the man.
I see this secondary as trending closer to adequate than people realize. The unit should be o.k. playing with a lead this year and with the DL pinning their ears back.
Look - we won't be playing the Saints twice this year. We may have problems against the Packers and Bears - BUT - I think we have the players to maybe make a few plays back there too. Unlike last year, when, after injuries hit the unit, we were really really bad.
