Don McPeak-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Matthew Stafford reportedly has a hamstring injury and is expected to be okay.
As expected, Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz declined to comment on quarterback Matthew Stafford's health during his Monday press conference. According to Dave Birkett, Schwartz said he didn't have any comment. Also, Schwartz said a determination on Stafford's status for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings won't be made until Friday.
Shortly after this, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported that Stafford has a hamstring injury. While Schwartz is keeping quiet about Stafford's MRI, it seems to have gone well based on Florio's report.
Per a league source, Stafford has a hamstring issue. For now, the expectation is that he should be OK.
That's quite promising, but Stafford still has to make it through practice this week before we know for sure that he's good to go for Sunday. I'm sure Schwartz will continue to play it coy all week to force the Vikings to prepare for Shaun Hill, so don't expect a clear answer on Stafford's status until Friday afternoon at the earliest.
