Where is The Desire to Win

Stay connected for news and updates

At this point it is apt to say we are saddened by the play/record of our beloved Lions. Our enthusiasm is evaporating and the Live for the City campaign has begun to fade. It begs the question: Where is the fire/Desire to Win.

With our special teams play today, we added another record of infamy: The only team since 1940 to give 4 special teams touchdowns in consecutive weeks. It appears our special teams is not so special after all. Even ex-Lion ST ace, Zack Follett recognizes our lethargic effort: "Dang. Special teams comes down to attitude and no one on the Lions wants to be on ST and this is the result" Dan Crossman / STs where is your desire to win?

On Offense, Jim Schwartz summed up the play of our offensive line nicely "We got our butts kicked up front" which is reminiscent of the season long poor play we have seen from this group. Even with a future star running back in our nest, our OL was only able to muster 26 rushing yards in 60 minutes against a playoff caliber DL. OL where is your desire to WIN.

Furthermore, what's with all the dropped passes. The Lions lead the NFL with 12 drop passes in 4 games. To Quote Anquan Boldin: " You are considered open in the NFL with a Defender on your HIP" WRs/TEs/RBs where is the desire to win? Oh btw, Scott Linehan what's with all the field goals?

On Defense, what's with all the penalties. It has become a mantra around the NFL that the Lions defense jump offside at least 5 times during the game. Our excuse is we are aggressive yet we have few game changing plays to show for that aggression. DL, where is your desire to win?

As for the secondary, DBs, where is the desire to win? Besides Houston and Bentley, I am all for scrapping the rest of the secondary. Delmas is looking more like Bob Sanders every passing season. If Stafford is considered China Doll, then Delmas is Porcelain. Somebody needs to appeal to Rod Woodson to please apply for the Secondary Coach in Detroit because the current guy is not getting it done period.

As fans, how do we send a message to the Lions Organization that we are less than thrilled with the sub standard product the Lions are putting on the field. Do you feel a repeat of 70,000 phone messages would be in order? I look forward to your comments.
