How can you tell that it's the start of the regular season? Wednesday's injury report for this week's game between the Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams only has a total of five players on it. Two players are on it for the Lions and the other three are for the Rams' side of the injury report. Take a look:
Detroit Lions
CB Chris Houston (Ankle) - Didn't practice
S Louis Delmas (Knee) - Didn't practice
St. Louis Rams
DT Michael Brockers (Ankle) - Didn't practice
DT Matthew Conrath (Knee) - Didn't practice
DT Darell Scott (Knee) - Didn't practice
The final designations on injured players won't be out until Friday. As a result, it's unclear right now what the chances are of Houston and Delmas actually playing on Sunday. I would say Houston is more likely to give it a go than Delmas just because Delmas has been out for so long, but we really won't get a better idea about the status of either player until a couple days from now.
