Phairwell

I have lived through the worst of times with Lions from 0-16 to the release of The Phonz. So my luck would have. I finally get to meet the man and a few weeks later he's a free agent. Don't think that his release means I am no longer a fan. While at times I was over the top admittedly for entertainment purposes. I really was a huge fan of the small man ever sense I seen him prior to entering the draft fresh out of Wake Forest. While I will admit he has never been a compelete corner he has always had the abilltiy to make game changing plays. Ask Sam Bradford on sunday. I am positive he knows the carlton by heart now. Alphonso has always been a good teamate and a stayed clean off the field. He has all the elements I love in a young player. Enough to the point that I was in the process of getting my #27 jersey when the news broke. My friends I can look anyone of you directly in the eye with a FIRM belief that Alphonso Smith was one of the best corners this team has had to offer in close to 5 years. Berry I was never truely impressed after the Bears game. Lacey lets say I seen the colts and that decision will come back to haunt us. Eric Wright completely overrated and inconsitent. Dre Bly imressive at times but to slow as age makes fools of us all. The only corner that has otherwise impressed me has been Chris Houston but even I still have faith we can do better. Houston is a great 2nd corner in a collection of Mayhews backups. Bentley is a question mark yet, I love what he has shown but I can't attach myself to that yet. While others I know disagree thats fine the PCP has been use to defending itself. The Profiler will stand tall and proud defending his man who once tied Brent Grimes for interceptions in a season. A man who by all accounts made Johnthan Wade his bitch! I write this to explain the gags the jokes and the otherwise dead horse that has been Profilers love of the Phonz. Those that recall I was a big fan of Dan Gronk and even I was thrilled that we had traded him. Only cause of the player we got in exchange. Not sure I could belive anyone who said that they have always hated Alphonsos game. Before the "massacre" I think all of us had a little love for 27 and at times were even impressed. How a man can go from competing to start to free agency boggles the mind but its all part of the buisness I suppose. Hear me out Lions fans Drayton Folrence will not save this secondary. No one man can and I for one would be shocked if he even made a difference. Even Dave Birkett admitted to being shocked at the release of 27. Who had shown he was versatile by playing some saftey. I won't sit here and bore you all with my defending of the man or how angry this actually did make me. I simply say the ride was fun! I got an autograph we got the greatest endzone dance to yet. We also benifited from a man whos grin can light up a room. This is the NFL anything can happen so I will hope for his return and bash me if you will. I will ALWAYS be a loyal fan to The Phonz.... The next step is finding a player to help fill the void. Like Bree Olsons retirement life must go on. Justin Durant needs help with his 52 Crew a bandwagon I got on right off the bat. Sammie Lee never gets any love. Grounds Keeper Willie is always making plays. Or maybe Just maybe the guy you all said we didnt need. Having a player that can stretch the field was called overrated. On draft day I CALLED IT! Perhaps Titus Young needs a foundation of his own. We shall see in the coming weeks. Matthew Stafford will always be my MAN but everyone has Matts back. Someone out there must need some support a Ryan Broyles or a Joqiue Bell....Play for my fandom guys! The Challenge has been issued! P.S BRING BACK CARP...as well! P.P.S Thank You Alphonso, Keep taking them to the HOUSE
