Lions Vs. Rams: Chris Houston, Louis Delmas On Inactives List

Stay connected for news and updates

The Detroit Lions will in fact be without two of their top defensive backs on Sunday afternoon against the St. Louis Rams. Both cornerback Chris Houston and safety Louis Delmas are officially out, as they are both on the list of inactives for the Lions. This means that both Jacob Lacey and John Wendling are in the starting lineup. Here's the full list of Lions inactives:

QB Kellen Moore
WR Ryan Broyles
OT Jason Fox
OT Corey Hilliard
LB Tahir Whitehead
CB Chris Houston
S Louis Delmas

I'm a bit surprised that Broyles and both Fox and Hilliard are inactive. This must mean that the coaches don't feel Broyles is quite there yet in terms of being ready to play in the regular season, or they just don't think he will be used enough in the game plan for this week. And while I understand that offensive linemen are often inactive, I didn't necessarily expect both Fox and Hilliard to be out. This means Riley Reiff will be the key backup at offensive tackle and possibly even guard as well.

Here's a look at the Rams' inactives for Sunday:

RB Terrance Ganaway
OT Ty Nsekhe
OG Shelley Smith
DT Michael Brockers
DT Matt Conrath
DT Darell Scott
SS Darian Stewart
