1st round - Jarvis Jones OLB 6'2" 241lbs He is the most NFL ready of any OLB in the draft and can be an every down player for this team. (I can see the Lions passing on Jones because of his Spinal Stenosis an obvious career ending medical issue) The fact is the Lions have a serious need at the Linebacker position and this guy is a super athlete and playmaker. I would think seriously about a DE in this position but the Lions could go wait 1 more year to take a DE as we are very weak in the LBer position. (I'm sure this won't be a popular pick among the fans here but I did say impact players)
2nd round - Xavier Rhodes CB 6'1" 215lbs Xavier Rhodes not only brings pass coverage skills to the table, but size and strength in supporting the perimeter in run defense. If he is able to start as a rookie, you would have his 6'1" 215 lb frame on the strong side. He loves to jam and get physical in press coverage, getting in the face of receivers at the line of scrimmage and staying aggressive through the whistle.
3rd round - Bacarri Rambo FS 6'0" 218lbs Possesses the combination of overall strength and agility to fill multiple roles on defense. Effective cut tackler at the second level, also changes directions quickly to wrap up running backs making a quick cut. Good effort, upper body strength to ride receivers and backs with a full head of steam to the ground or sideline. Moves well with receivers downfield, can take away deep options and limit yards after the catch. (suspended 4 games last season for eating pot brownies, immature will grow up)
So those are my 3 players that can step in and start, 2 big SEC players to make the Lions defense tougher and compete in the playoffs in 2013. I do like a lot of other players in this year's draft so I'd like to hear some of the players you guys like.
