The 2014 Pro Bowl rosters are out, and they feature two Detroit Lions players: wide receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. There was some thought that offensive guard Larry Warford and linebacker DeAndre Levy would be named to the Pro Bowl as well, but neither player is even an alternate. Instead, quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Reggie Bush and defensive tackle Nick Fairley are the alternates for the Lions.
This is Johnson's fourth consecutive Pro Bowl. He hasn't actually played in the last couple of Pro Bowls because of injuries, and chances are that will be the case again this year. Even so, Johnson is obviously more than deserving of the recognition considering he currently has 84 catches for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
For Suh, this is his second straight Pro Bowl and his third in four seasons in the NFL. He's recorded 46 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 1 safety, 4 pass defenses and 1 forced fumble this season, and generally speaking, he's been quite dominant. Like Johnson, he is more than deserving of this honor.
