Quick Lions/Vacation Story

So I had to share this story quick. The wife and I just got back from a vacation in the Bahamas yesterday. In our second day there, we are having lunch at an outdoor restaurant and I see this guy walk out to the edge of his terrace in one of the ocean-side villas right next to the restaurant. Right away, I was pretty sure I knew who it was, but I only saw him for a few seconds and he walked back into the villa. I told my wife who I thought it was, but as time went on, I started to second guess myself a little. So we left and headed over to the swim-up bar by the main pool.

About an hour later, my wife and I were playing volleyball in the pool and I turn and look and the dude is standing like 10 feet from me. I knew for sure then that it was Dan Orlovsky. So I tell my wife that it is in fact him and when I won't just walk up to him at her urging, she promptly goes over and asks he and his wife if they want to join us playing. So we played volleyball for a while, then sat and had drinks with them for a few hours. We also spent that evening (Valentine's Day) hanging with them and caught up with them several times throughout the week we were there.

It was a pretty cool experience and we actually talked a lot about football, his time with the Lions, who he liked, who he didn't.... all that. He told some cool stories of his time with the Lions and some of the other teams he has been with. I think he was taken aback by the detailed questions I was asking and I tried not to be stalker-like in my knowledge of the Lions, but I have to admit that it was kind of hard not to act like a super fan and just be some "regular dude" he met at a resort ... lol. He is a really down to earth guy and his wife is a sweetheart. Made a really awesome vacation that much better. Just thought I would share the experience.
