ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals are the teams to watch when it comes to free-agent running back Reggie Bush.
We are only one day away from the official start of NFL free agency, and the speculation surrounding the Detroit Lions and running back Reggie Bush isn't slowing down one bit. Over the weekend, it was reported that Lions players are recruiting Bush in an effort to land the free-agent running back, and it also came out that three unknown teams have "significant" interest in him. While the Lions haven't been directly connected to Bush just yet, it would come as a surprise if they aren't one of those three teams.
On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter talked about Bush during an interview on Mike & Mike in the Morning. Schefter named the Lions and Arizona Cardinals as the two teams to keep an eye on when it comes to Bush. "I think there's some interest in Detroit," Schefter said. "I think there's some interest in Arizona. I think those are the two teams to watch."
The NFL's negotiating period has failed to produce a whole lot of worthwhile news on Bush and specific teams that might have interest in him. Right now, as evidenced by what Schefter said, it's mostly still speculation. However, once free agency actually begins at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, I would expect things to get moving on the Bush front. He will be able to start taking visits, and negotiations should move along to a more advanced stage.
Just based on how much they have been connected to Bush, the Lions almost certainly have some interest in him. Just how badly they want to sign him will come down to what the market looks like. Schefter mentioned that this is a buyer's market, which is good news for the Lions, but all it takes is one other team with interest in Bush to drive up his price.
