The Detroit Lions are reportedly going to bring in free agents Reggie Bush and Jason Jones for visits.
Free-agent running back Reggie Bush and free-agent defensive end Jason Jones are both in the process of scheduling visits with the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. News of their impending visits broke shortly after the start of NFL free agency, suggesting that past speculation about the Lions' interest in these two players was accurate.
Bush is obviously the big name here. He has been connected to the Lions for months, and especially in the last 24 hours, all signs have pointed to him ending up in Detroit. In order to sign him, the first step is to bring him in for a visit.
Schefter reports that the Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals are also interested in Bush, and Pro Football Talk says the Lions want a deal to be done before Bush leaves his visit in Detroit. Clearly, they don't want any other teams to have a shot at making a pitch to him.
As for Jones, he doesn't have to go far for his visit. He still lives in Detroit (his hometown), according to Schefter. He played college football at Eastern Michigan, and he also has a connection to Lions head coach Jim Schwartz from when they were both with the Tennessee Titans. As the Lions look to rebuild their depth at defensive end, Jones is definitely a name worth keeping an eye on.
