I am surprised the Lions haven't signed Jackson yet. While he hasn't lived up to his first round status, he hasn't been terrible either. In fact, in limited role with the Lions, he was consistent. 2012 season was the first time he stayed healthy if I remember. I was hoping to see him as a starter when they decided to cut KVB and there were talks of Avril playing on the blind side. Then when Avril left in FA, I was hoping to see Jackson move to his more natural left side on the line. With the signing of Jones followed by coach Schwartz's endorsement that Jones will be playing the left side, I am finding it hard to figure how Jackson will fit in any longer. They have Jones and Lewis signed until 2016, Young for one more year. This makes it only two DEs in 2014 which points to them stacking up DE and DT (which is needed even for this year) positions in this draft. His cap number last year was just over a million though it was his rookie deal, which means his expected numbers aren't going to be out of the affordable range for the Lions. With the market being a buyer's market this year, and the premium and more famous ones already out (except Dumervil who isn't a target anyways), why isn't motown showing no love towards Jackson?
