Punter Brad Wing met with the Detroit Lions at the 2013 NFL Combine, according to a report.

Sticking with the punter theme from earlier, the Detroit Lions met with LSU's Brad Wing at the 2013 NFL Combine. This isn't necessarily new news, but I hadn't heard about Wing meeting with the Lions until the Free Press' Dave Birkett mentioned it on Monday.

Wing is a pretty high-profile player by a punter's standards. He is from Australia, and he put together a pair of solid seasons at LSU. Wing decided to turn pro early after the 2012 season, and he figures to be one of the specialists drafted this year.

While the Lions did sign punter Blake Clingan on Tuesday, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of them drafting one this year. The Lions need to upgrade the position, and although Clingan clearly impressed the Lions during his tryout, he doesn't have quite the track record of someone like Wing, who put up big numbers in college.

The Lions also met with Ball State punter Scott Kovanda and Arizona State punter Josh Hubner while at the combine.
