Then I'll show you the money.
As far as his next contract, man ! that is a very very tricky one if you ask me.
Stafford has only had basically one great year. Last year he lost some of his accuracy and consistency. His QB rating for the 2012 season wasn't even top-ten. There are some QB analysts that have begun to question his mechanics.
Add to this, the fact that he has played for us now for 4 years on a super-rich, #1 overall draft pick contract, from before the new CBA, and he hasn't yet won a playoff game, and has had trouble staying healthy.
I dunno - I dunno if you just roll over and pay a guy like that as if he were one of the top QB's in the league.
I really like him too. Please do not get me wrong - I am not " hatin' " - I do think that he is a legit franchise QB and will mature into a guy that can take us to the promised land. However, compared to the Colin Kaepernicks', Russel Wilsons', and Andrew Lucks' of the world - as well as the Joe Flaccos' and Aaron Rodgers', he has ALREADY been paid that super-rich #1 contract for 4 years and STILL is not a proven playoff winning QB.
Again too, he DID look inconsistent and inaccurate last year. He said it himself after a number of loses that, " I just didn't put the ball on guys like I should have ". That's not good peeps.
So - MAN - that is a real quandary - right there. I don't know if I'd want his agent in my face saying his " market value " is 5 years for $ 100 + million. Because, I don't think that it is yet.
