Lions minicamp: Chris Houston held out of team drills

Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRE

Detroit Lions cornerback Chris Houston didn't take part in the team drills on the third and final day of minicamp.

The Detroit Lions wrapped up their 2013 mandatory minicamp on Thursday, and there was only one noteworthy development on the injury front. Cornerback Chris Houston, who had been a full participant on the first two days of the minicamp, was held out of the team drills on Thursday, according to Dave Birkett. It's not clear what prompted Houston to practice on a limited basis, but the Lions weren't going to take any chances at this point in the offseason, even with minor injuries.

The list of players who didn't practice at all on Thursday was no different than Wednesday. The Lions were once again without wide receiver Brian Robiskie, offensive lineman Bill Nagy, offensive lineman Leroy Harris, cornerback Jonte Green and safety Louis Delmas.

Among that group, Nagy, Harris and Delmas are all still recovering from injuries they suffered last year. Nagy is trying to get back to full health from the ankle surgery he had last summer, while Harris is still recovering from a partially torn ACL. Delmas, as noted earlier in the week, is still dealing with issues related to his knees, and he missed the Lions' minicamp and all of their OTAs as a result.

Looking ahead to next month, Nagy, Harris and Delmas all seem like candidates for the PUP list. Obviously a lot could change from now until training camp, but these players may not be ready to practice when camp opens.
