The question has been brought up regarding the mental / psychological state of Lions fans.
The Lions have a rich and storied history with some of the all time legends of the game coming through Detroit. Being a Lion fan has a special badge of honor, as Lions fans can hardly be accused of being a front runner, and the city of Detroit is such a huge symbol of America. It is truly one of the NFL's historic franchises.
DrewsLions wrote a thoughtful piece about the mindset, while I just want to take it a step further.
Rather than being labeled by the "other", this is a chance to speak up and say what type of fan you see yourself as... you can go with a familiar label like "Homer" or "Kool-Aid Drinker" or "Debbie Downer" or "Negative Nancy" or come up with a description you can call your own.
At times, here on POD - it seems there's a battle between just those two juxtaposed positions yet we as fans must also fill a varied spectrum like the colors shooting through a Prism. The different voices and opinions here make it an interesting place (IMO) that can be equal parts frustrating and rewarding. Some of us know nothing of football, while others of us know everything....one thing that can't be denied is that we participate on this Lions blog to connect and share with other Lions fans. Actually there's some of us that share on here just to be right.
On this thread everybody can be right- just tell us what type of fan you are. We might be surprised.
