The Detroit Lions were once again missing several players when they hit the field on Tuesday for their latest organized team activity. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive tackle Nick Fairley were among the players not taking part in the practice, but for differing reasons. Johnson was simply given a day off because of general soreness. Fairley, on the other hand, was absent for an unknown reason.
Jim Schwartz said that Fairley wasn't missing because of an injury, so it appears he simply wasn't able to make it to Tuesday's OTA for some reason. As Schwartz said, OTAs are voluntary, but Fairley will have to be back for the mandatory minicamp next week. The Lions also have two more OTAs later this week that he could potentially take part in.
