The Joshua Cribbs Conundrum

Well, I know a lot of us wanted Josh Cribbs to sign with the Lions. However, he spurned our interests for the Silver and Black....now he's a free agent. Are the Lions still interested? Could this be a kick the tires kind of thing? I'm reading that after his knee surgery, he just doesn't have the burst he used to. Plus, he fumbled a kick against Chicago (that's little scary for a RETURN SPECIALIST).

Considering the rumors Detroit is looking for a starting caliber receiver, what does everybody think?

From Silver & Black Pride

Josh was given every chance to come back from his off-season knee surgery but it was just to no avail. He looked like he was jogging while the people coming to tackle him were running at full speed. It wasn't intentional on Cribbs' part, his body just would not let him get back up to his full speed anymore. Cribbs' was a vested veteran so his contract was able to be terminated and he will not have to go through waivers before another team can sign him.

It scares me that they say he looks like he was "jogging". I guess, bring him in, give him a physical and see what happens. If he's still willing to come to Detroit...and if Detroit is still willing to take him. Kicking the tires and giving him a physical wouldn't hurt...signing him only to find out he's a wreck...that would hurt.
