As we head into the 2013 preseason (and soon the regular season), I have a question for all of you: What do you want to get out of POD's recaps of Lions games?
In the past, our recaps have all had one common theme -- they're extremely detailed. Depending on what happened during each game, they could easily reach 2,000-3,000 words or more since every noteworthy detail was included. I'm talking turnovers, scores, key plays and so on. Every drive was discussed in some form during the recap.
What I want to know from you is as follows: Are the recaps too long? Did you actually read all the way through them in the past? Would it be better to condense them into something shorter?
I'm asking because I'm just not sure if these extensive recaps are a good use of my time immediately following a Lions game. I'm essentially going to treat the preseason as a test run for any potential changes to the recap format, but first I wanted to get your feedback.
So, should I stick with the same format as before? If not, what kind of information do you want to get out of POD's game recaps?
EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm referring to the recap posted within hours of each game being finished, not the analysis we do in the following week.
