There are two types of trades that I could see happening in the foreseeable future. I am Nostradamus.
Mayhew's Past Trades (*has to be a player involved)
Roy Williams and a 2009 7th round to Dallas for 2009 1st, 3rd, and 6th round. Just a fleecin'.
A 2010 7th round to Buffalo for Ko Simpson. DOH!
Kevin O'Connel to New York Jets for 2011 7th round. I've got nothing, seriously nothing.
A 2010 5th round to Cleveland for Corey Williams and a 2010 7th round. Quickly a fan favorite. A balla' at the tail end of his prime.
A 2010 6th round and a 2011 7th round to Atlanta for Chris Houston. Cha ching, cha ching. Wow, Martin is 2 for his last 2.
A 2011 7th round to San Francisco for Shaun Hill. One of the top backups in the league. 3-3.
A 2011 6th round to Seattle for Lawrence Jackson. LoJack was hijacked by someone else in his body, during his time with the Lions.
Tyler Polumbus to Seattle for an undisclosed 2012 draft pick. Uhh my head started to spin trying to track that... Please do so, if you are that interested.
A 2014 to Jacksonville for Mike Thomas. Ewwww, I think the count is down to 0-2.
My trade prediction - It will be similar to the likes of one of these two previous trades.
Option 1.) Ernie Sims for Tony Scheffler. Depth Starter for Depth Starter.
Option 2.) Two late round picks for a potential starter.
Likely players from these two positions groups, will be the TE's (Pettigrew and Scheffler) and the two backup RB's (LeShoure and Bell). The positions I see them target are a YOUNG promising safety and OLINE. Sure a few rookies (Williams, Fauria, Riddick) need to be key cogs in these scenarios.
My preference would be the second option. I would love to trade two late round picks for a Safety (hopefully an upgrade over Delmas / Carey).
What do you think?
