I love Ndamukong Suh. I am a Lions fan, and I love to see our team do well. I choose to spend my time, money, and emotional well being supporting this team. So when the NFL was talking about suspending one of our best players -one of the best players in the league- for a cut block, that made me even more insane. When some of our fans were talking about how he SHOULD be suspended, my head almost exploded.
I think we are all on the same boat here, hoping for a Lions Superbowl. You need excellent players to win a Superbowl. You need fearless players who play with 100% effort on every play, in order to win a Superbowl. You need players who build their bodies up in the off-season to the point that they are DURABLE, to win a Superbowl. We have that in Ndamukong Suh.
He is a tireless worker. He gives time and money to charity in the off-season. He provides entertainment value to watch on the field. We all wanted him when the Lions earned the No 2 pick in 2010. Yes, he has screwed up.... He did the Stomp, which was unforgivable, along with the acrobatic upside down alleged two inch nut tap to Schaub last year.
But how many of you cheered when he nearly decapitated Jake Delhomme and Andy Dalton in the 2010 preseason. How many of you cheered with glee when he two hand touch tackled Jay Cutler at Ford field. Or when he belly to belly suplexed him last year. My point is, he has brought all of us Joy. And he is the type of player you can build a team around.
He has shown a willingness to change his ways over the years, proven by the lack of personal fouls in 2012. He was voted a captain for the first time this year, and he has not only apologized to Jonathan Sullivan after the block, but to his team afterwards. The Lions need guys like Suh, and so does the NFL. So as Lions fans, I believe we should want Suh on the field. Even if Mike Florio feels otherwise, I want to support our guys.
