I'm not sure it this will work but I will give it a try- The paranoid Lions fan in me recognizes the team is constantly in the cross hairs of the league and media. Negative stories abound, bad referee calls are costly and timely, touchdowns are redefined mid play and taken away, league fines are over the top, etc... I'm interested to see how the coverage of Aldon Smith and Von Miller play out. It looks like Von Miller gets 6game suspension for trying to game/fix the system. It seems like that's a pretty big offense and speaks to what else he might do to win if he was clearly trying to circumvent the drug testing collection process. 6 games for such a bold tactic seems kind of light. Aldon Smith with two duis, being stabbed and having been said to have fired gunshots at his house party all seem like bigger personal blights than anything Suh has done. I'm not saying Suh is clean...the norm in the NFL could be what those guys have done. I have to think Von learned his trick in college or had it suggested from another pro but I speculate. I wonder how the media wolves treat this. Locally sportswriters are disappointed in JH for not taking a stand against aldon. Local fans seemed disappointed too. I'm curious to see his crowd reaction although I imagine Niners will introduce the offense for this home game now. They both seem like huge stories and have a greater impact on the image and legitimacy of the league but I can't help but feel that, measuring airtime used to discuss it, Suhs dirty block still gets more airtime.
