Multiple injuries couldn't slow down Reggie Bush against Vikings

Reggie Bush played through multiple injuries on Sunday and still put up big numbers.

Running back Reggie Bush lived up to the hype in his regular-season debut with the Detroit Lions. He rushed for 90 yards on 21 carries and he caught 4 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. In short, he added a lot to the Lions offense, and he was a weapon the team really hasn't had since Jahvid Best went down in 2011.

Perhaps the most amazing part about Bush's performance is that he put up nearly 200 total yards despite dealing with multiple injuries. After the game, Bush said that he suffered a dislocated left thumb and a pulled groin early in the first half, according to Tim Twentyman. Bush also dealt with a sore hip and appeared to bang up his left knee at one point.

The obvious down side here is that Bush got pretty banged up on Sunday. That's not good considering how much the Lions are going to rely on him throughout the season. They need Bush to stay healthy, and he can't be suffering multiple injuries each week if he's going to make it through the year.

On the other hand, imagine what Bush can do in this offense when he is fully healthy. He was the most explosive player on the field for the Lions against the Minnesota Vikings, and he put up nearly 200 total yards despite being pretty banged up. I'm going to take that as a mostly positive sign going forward.
