Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson
Not much needs to be said. Could be a perfect complement to Megatron as the #2
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE University of Washington
I see him as the STUD TE that this team really needs. He could get picked at the end of the first round, so getting him at this spot would be a steal.
Cyril Richardson, G/OT Baylor
I see him as an eventual replacement for Rob Sims. Sims struggled a bit last year, so it would not be a bad idea to groom a possible replacement. He's a talented prospect, and may even replace him sooner rather than later.
Bryan Stork, C Florida St
Doms replacement. Dom played well last year, and I expect him to stay another year. This gives Stork a chance to learn behind him and be ready to start after Dom retires
Denicos Allen, OLB Michigan St
A developmental guy that could get a chance at the OLB spot currently occupied by Palmer. Allen is a little light, so he will have to put on some weight to be able to handle the NFL. Definitely a project.
Isaiah Lewis, S Michigan St
Another spartan that can be a developmental guy at safety. He's a hard hitter with good instincts. At this point, your gonna be looking for a diamond in the rough. Taking another guy from arguably the best defense in college football would not be a bad way to go.
Looking at this draft, I definitely picked more offensive players. I stayed away from CB because I want the guys we have the chance to develop first. I also see us picking up a veteran in free agency, which also takes away from the need to draft one. I think the lions are at a point where getting depth/replacement is more common than finding guys who can come in and start right away. That shows how talented this roster really has become.
