Well the last time I posted here was when the Lions were looking for a head coach and now I'm back as well.. I read all most of the post and comments.
I don’t know why all the LOVE/ HATE for both Whisenhunt and Caldwell. I fell into the love Whiz category have no clue why oh yes I do because what he has done with Warner, Big Ben and now Rivers but in the same breath what did he do as a coach? 45-51 and two playoffs in 6 seasons that’s ok we as Lions fans would take that but he’s gone now. He had Warner and when he retired he had Kolb and others that he could not coach up and win but he was going to be our savior but he’s gone he may make a great coach or a poor one like the rest of Bill Cowers assistants only time will tell.
Jim Caldwell on the other had I like him thought he did a good job in Indy I know he had Payton and then Payton got hurt no one else and he could not develop any to take over so he got caned after a 2-14 record that year. His record is 26-22 with 2 playoff appearance in 3 seasons. I’m not smart but I feel when one of the best and smartest QB’s in the NFL supports him that tells me something. I guess you never know what a coach is going to do in his career with wins and losses be good or bad only time will tell who would of ever thought Bill Belichick with a record of 36-44 taking over an 8-8 Patriots team coached by Pete Carrol would go 5-11 in the 2000 season and after that become one of the greatest coachs of all time and Pete Carrol leaving the NFL coaching to go to USC and becoming a great coach and back in the NFL and doing what he’s doing now. You just never know how things will turn out. I’m on board with Jim Caldwell if the Lions want him. Go Lions been a fan for over 40 years.
Have a great day.
