OrangeBlackStripes's Now Old Fanposts V1.0

Below are some of my old Fanposts that have had their comments locked out on, or polls closed, etc due to their age. This is for me to update some older news possibly, keep track o what I've said before, and to organize everything together. I also want comments to be continued on these posts, so I'm sorry if you're comments were deleted with my old post. P.S I will change the polls regularly so we get different opinions on different topics.

Draft Post One: Midseason-

For those of you interested in the NFL Draft in general that like predicting the players as much as seeing who the Lions get, I recommend going to they have a great user mock draft site, and you get very good feedback from multiple users. If you're looking for a mock draft you don't have to do yourself you can use to see realistic projections of where players will go, as they also have links to multiple other sites you can go to.

My opinion: 1st Round: Whichever DE/LB Hybrid that slips. It could be Mack who doesn't play in an elite conference, it could be Van Noy with a rising stock, it could be Barr with a poor combine or Clowney with personality and work ethic issues. Who knows? If Dee Ford finishes the rest of the process up, watch out for him as well.

Round 2: One of the multiple WRs. This is the best class of WRs to come out other than Calvin Johnson in a while, so it could be anyone from Beckham, Abbrederis, Robinson. Etc. whoever falls. Watch for somebody to rise also. Donte Moncrief would be a great number 2 Wide Receiver across from Calvin. Mark me down for him.

Round 3: Bradley Roby. Simply put it, the Lions go Best Player available and he could easily fall to the 3rd round due to his Off-Field issues. Marcus Roberson who's also a CB looks very intriguing also, assuming one of them falls. Keep an eye out for ant of the 3 Florida Corners.

4th Rounder: If Pettigrew leaves TE. If he doesn't go, then we should go Center. A Tight End who projects around here is Arthur Lynch or CJ F. from Iowa, while a Center who projects around here is Weston Richburg.

6th Rounder: LB some who project here include Prince Shembo, Denicos Allen, and Devon Kennard, I even saw something saying Adrian Hubbard in the 6th?

7th Rounder: QB. I can't stand Shaun Hill and his big contract, and Kellen Moore isn't ready to start yet. I'm not putting my money on Stafford starting the next 20 straight games either. Some QBs who project around here are Kenny Guiton, Connor Shaw and Keith Price or even James Franklin.

I know it's early, but the draft and the Lions always seem to have the phrase "something to look forward to" attached to them for me, if you don't know much about potential prospects you should start looking as mock draft season has started! If you do, or even if you don't, I would still like to know what you think. What do you think we should do when Roger Goodell goes up to the stand and says "The Detroit Lions are on the clock."?

Free Agency/Draft Post 2:

The Lions have officially hired Jim Caldwell, which could only mean one thing. After we fill the rest of our staff, it's time for the acquiring of players phase to begin! This will take a look at many different players we can get based on position.

Free Agency: There are a whole BUNCH of people at all kinds of different positions we could sign as of today! I doubt half of them are going to be available or would consider coming here, but still, we could always try, right?! So, with that, I present to you a list of Free Agents who are available this offseason before cuts and re-signings:

Out of this list, there are a lot of names I would be happy with. Here they ALL are:

Rashad Jennings (If we lose Bell), Ginn, LaFell, Hester, Decker, McCluster, Edelman, Nicks, Cooper, Tate, Boldin, Manningham, Pitta, Clark, Davis (I doubt Graham comes here), Mack, Wendell, Goodwin, De La Puente, Griffen, Tuck, Houston, Franklin, Graham, Shields, Davis, Grimes, Talib, Porter, Browner, Thurmond, Verner, Ward, Woodson, Bethea, Clark, Hauschka, Vinatierri, Gano, Dawson. If we could get ONE of ANY of these guys, it completely elimates the need of a draft pick, and frees up a pick for us to use on another player. Notice, however that there are NO OLBs that are really that good that are available. I found that interesting, as that is our 2nd biggest need this offseason.

Here is who we could lose this offseason:

QB Shaun Hill

WR Kevin Ogletree

WR Micheal Spurlock

TE Brandon Pettigrew

OT Jason Fox

OG Dylan Gandy

C Dominic Raiola

DE Willie Young

DE Israel Idonije

DT Andre Fluellen

LB Rocky McIntosh

CB Rashean Mathis

S Don Carey - Signed 3 Year Deal with Lions.

S John Wendling

K David Akers

LS Don Muhlbach

Restricted free agents (3)

RB Joique Bell

WR Kris Durham

TE Dorin Dickerson

Exclusive-rights free agents (5)

WR Jeremy Ross

TE Matt Veldman

LB Julian Stanford

CB Chris Greenwood

S Akwasi Owusu-Ansah

I think we resign all 5 Exc. Right FAs, Dickerson, Muhlbach, Young, Fluellen, Raiola and Fox.

I also would like to see us cut Delmas and Burleson towards cap savings.

Now, we head on to my favorite part of this, the 2014 NFL Draft. When the Lions are on the clock as of January 23rd, 2014 I have us selecting: (Pick 1 per round)

1st: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson University

Mike Evans, WR, TAMU is also an option.

Anthony Barr or Khalil Mack (OLB)

Darqueze Dennard (CB)

Jace Amaro, Eric Ebron, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins (TE)

Louis Nix (NT)

Lewan, Kouandijo, Matthews, Robinson (OT)

Haha Clinton Dix (FS)

Late Round Players include: Nobody for RB. Wake me up if Montell Owens, Joique Bell, Theo Riddick and Mikel Leshoure all leave. ALL. Not just 2.

BPA QB: I say let Shaun Hill walk. This can wait till later on though, maybe an UDRFA or we can take Price.Let KM be Staffords backup.

3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, Compensatory pick: Base off order of needs and BPA from Round 2. Whichever positions we do NOT get compensatory, draft day trade pick acquisitions, etc. we can get as UDFAs.

I would like to hear your thoughts too! Please comment with your opinion on ANY of these topics, and I should get back to you within 48 hours, but hopefully 24. Thanks! Also, remember to check out my other fanpost (link above) for a best and worst-case scenario mock, my analysis on coaches, latest news from the pre-draft process, and key re-signings, trades and FA signings as well throughout the offseason. Thanks everybody! :) This will be updated periodically as well, based on current events.

Multiple Scenario Lions Mocks:

Some of these are so stupid they're funny, some of them are just funny to begin with. Some of them are well thought out and make a lot of sense, and some of them are plans that could easily change based on our new HC. Every Hater and every diehard fan should have at least one favorite on this list, and on the other hand, will probably hate one on this list. The only thing I wasn't dumb enough to do was trade Calvin, Reggie, any of our DL, or Sam Martin. Everyone else is on the table in one of these 2014 NFL Draft Scenarios, Lions Version. So, below comment with your most favorite, and maybe least favorite and try to explain why if possible along with questions for the author, me. Note: Since we only have 5 Million in Cap Space, I didn't do many where we sign a FA before the draft. I also tried to keep losses to a minimum as well for most of these, however every draft where a FS is taken, assume that means Delmas could be gone. The earlier the more likely.
