  • Three former Detroit Lions players who were a part of the 0-16 season in 2008 have made it to this year's Super Bowl.
  • Larry Warford and DeAndre Levy were named to USA Today's All-Joe team, which recognizes unsung players who have never been named to the Pro Bowl.

  • Ndamukong Suh put in a good word for the city of Detroit when Joba Chamberlain was pondering a contract offer from the Tigers. Chamberlain, who went to Nebraska, signed a one-year deal with the Tigers in December.

  • Carlin Isles, who signed a futures deal with the Lions after the 2013 season, has quit Rugby to focus solely on his NFL career.

  • The Lions showed up a few times in Sports on Earth's countdown of the top 48 moments from the 2013 NFL season.

  • The NFL is still America's most popular sport by a wide margin.

  • Minnesota has launched a bid to be the host of the 2018 Super Bowl.

  • The Baltimore Ravens have hired Gary Kubiak to replace Jim Caldwell as their offensive coordinator. Kubiak was one of four coaches who interviewed for the Lions' head coaching job before Caldwell was hired by Detroit.
