LATE ROUND LOOKS
We've had a 4 quarters full of Draft conversations, and the 1st through 4th rounds seem to have mapped some consensus amongst the Brothership of Draftniks here at POD. It appears most of us agree that if Sammy Watkins is available, the Lions should run to the microphone faster than Honey-boo-boo could jack a Keebler Elf delivery van. However, we can't expect Matt Millen to show up at every war room prior to the Lions' selection, and Sammy probably won't be there.
In Watkins absence, it seems the selection and conversations become much more varied, and logical. Kudos too all of us frustrated Lions fanatics. Should the Lions chose BPA, even if it's a OT or OLB? Is Dennard the best corner? Next best WR? Whomever that selection might be, it seems we still come back to smartly balancing the 1st round selection with the 2nd and 3rd, while understanding an obvious BPA, if available, should be a "Matt Millen". (Strange .... Every time I typed "no brainer" my iPad autocorrected to "Matt Millen")
I'm a huge fan of watching YouTube cut ups of games versus career highlights. And I'm wondering what you guys have found out there, players that are being looked at as the late round chaff, that could turn out to be our next LaAdrian Waddle? A poster illuminated to most of us Donte Moncrief, WR-MissState. The kid looks great! While he won't slip beyond the 3rd, he's the type of player that previously, I wouldn't have given a second look.
Any late round looks that you might suggest the rest of us watch? Especially kids that could make sense for our Detroit Lions.
I'd like to also offer up a couple names for discussion... Please feel free to rip on the picks (and me) if you deem it necessary. We're all Lions fans and have a LOT of bottled up anger. What's a life without a little unprovoked attack now and then. Vent. Release the toxins. Let the healing begin. It's a new season.
