Well, we're all dealing with the same stress and torture waiting for the draft to arrive. If you're a Red Wings, Tigers, or NBA fan then maybe you've got something to fill that void until May 8th. I think we can all agree that Roger Goodell is an evil man for making us wait an extra few weeks for his own selfish reasons. Draft lovers just want to see who lands on their team, and draft haters wish that the Mel Kipers out there would just go away.
During this time of year, with the draft only a week or two away, we start to see some pretty ridiculous statements and projections/predictions. Earlier today, ESPN analyst Merril Hoge stated that "Clowney is not a good football player". He also called Manziel a bust recently. It was about this time last year when Mel Kiper Jr. said that the Lions should trade up to the #1 spot to grab Dee Milliner. I get it, these guys need to stay relevant throughout the entire draft process, and will spew out any garbage that will get them ratings or page views.
So now, fellow POD members, give me your "bold" predictions for the upcoming draft. It may not even be crazy to you, but it can be something that is against the popular opinion of the media and most draft experts out there.
Here are a few of mine:
1. UCLA OLB Anthony Barr will not get selected in the top 20 picks.
2. LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. will be a top 15 pick.
3. OKST CB Justin Gilbert will be the 4th CB off the board.
4. The Lions will draft a kicker in the 6th round that most have never even heard of.
5. Kelvin Benjamin will be drafted on the 3rd day.
There is no need to state why you made these predictions, since the whole point is to go against popular belief, and it will only end up in silly arguments. Have fun.
