Week 9 is about to come to a close. It’s hard to say goodbye to what has been my personal favorite week of the 2016 NFL season. What’s not to like? The Detroit Lions were the only NFC North team to notch a win. The Lions are heading into the bye with a winning record and within striking distance of the division lead.
But today is not about the Lions. Instead, the Seattle Seahawks (4-2-1) are hosting the Buffalo Bills (4-4). The Bills are reeling after dropping two straight division games, ruining their impressive 4-2 start. The Seahawks sit somewhat comfortably in first place atop the NFC West despite going 0-1-1 in their past two games.
As for how this game relates to the Lions, the answer is simple. Although the Seahawks currently lead their division, any time an AFC team beats an NFC team, it gives the Lions a slightly better chance to make the playoffs. Go Bills!
