Hall Traded to Rams; Three Others Released
Following the Dre' Bly deal yesterday, the Lions were quick to follow up on that with another trade and a few other roster moves. The trade with Denver sent Bly to the Broncos along with a sixth-round draft pick (I believe the additional pick to Denver was added today when the trade became official) in exchange for Tatum Bell, George Foster, and a fifth-round draft pick.
Today, the Lions traded defensive end James Hall to St. Louis in exchange for another fifth-round pick, giving Detroit a total of four in that round alone as of right now. Also, a few players were cut, which doesn't come as any surprise.
A potential replacement for Hall at defensive end could end up being Tampa Bay DE DeWayne White.
The one expected player to be signed during free agency, Rams receiver Kevin Curtis, will visit Detroit tomorrow as he is in Minnesota today. Some worry Curtis will be offered a deal by the Vikings tonight, so hope is he doesn't accept before checking out the Lions first, which I expect he will considering Mike Martz is the offensive coordinator.
