Earlier today the Lions made two moves in the free agent market. The first move I'll get to is Shaun King, a quarterback signed in the early-offseason. King was released today. King was brought on as a backup, but with additional signings of quarterbacks, and Mike Martz's new system, King just wasn't needed. No reason to keep him on when he wouldn't be used.
The second move is a big one because Detroit may have just found a starter on the o-line. The Lions signed Ross Verba, an offensive tackle, to a 1-year deal with additional club options.
