Defensive tackle Dan "Big Daddy" Wilkinson was released by Detroit last month, and now may be on the move to Miami to join Joey Harrington. The Miami Herald is reporting that Wilkinson visited with the Dolphins last Thursday and may be signed to be the starting nose tackle.
Defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson visited the Dolphins on Thursday, and the team could sign him to replace or compete with nose tackle Keith Traylor. Wilkinson, who owns a contracting business in Washington, had talked about retiring after being released by Detroit last month.
However, Wilkinson also is considering playing for a contender this season, such as the Dolphins or Cincinnati.
Many have been saying that Wilkinson may end up in Cincinnati, where he has played once before. Teammates however are defending Keith Traylor as one had this to say:
We need to keep Truck [Traylor] in there. I don't know what they're going to do, but . . . we have everything we need in our room. I don't know how we'll choose to use it or where we will play certain people in certain positions, but we have everything in our room that we already need for the whole season.
It appears it'll be between Miami and Cincinnati, but I would expect Bid Daddy to end up a Bengal when it's all said and done.
