Pro Football Talk: "SURPRISE RETIREMENT COMING?"

According to Pro Football Talk a surprise retirement may be coming soon.  I know it's just a rumor, but take it for what it's worth.

We've caught wind of strong rumors that a veteran NFL player is considering walking away from the game of pro football, despite prior indications that he will play in 2006.

It's not Lord Favre, but that's all we're saying for now.

(And no, readers, it's not Marshall Faulk.  That really wouldn't be a surprise, would it?  Sheesh -- we might not proofread our content, but we're at least generally familiar with it.)

More to come.  Maybe.

UPDATE: Normally I wouldn't jump to conclusions without confirmation, but some are saying that the player retiring is Ahman Green, running back from the Green Bay Packers. Green isn't a lock to even make the Packers just yet, so he may just be hanging it up right now. More on this when info comes available. Once again, don't take it literally just yet, these are just rumors.
