On Thursday, the day before training camp kicked off, the Lions took care of getting some of the rookies ready. Five of the draft picks were signed. Unfortunately, the picks from the first and second rounds aren't included in the signings (Ernie Sims and Daniel Bullocks). But, both are negotiating and should be on-board very soon.
Third-round pick Brian Calhoun inked a four-year deal, whereas the other four that signed yesterday (Jonathan Scott, Dee McCann, Fred Matua and Anthony Cannon) got deals worth three years. It'll be important to get Ernie Sims and Daniel Bullocks into camp very soon, so hopefully the negotiations are going well.
(UPDATE - Bullocks has now signed and just didn't get it done in time to make it to the first day of training camp.)
