Game #1- Detroit Lions (0-0-0) vs Seattle Seahawks (0-0-0) - Open Thread

VS
Kickoff weekend 2006 is here, and the first game of the season showcases the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks are coming off of a great season, but couldn't get that win in the Super Bowl. They will be on a mission to get back to the Super Bowl, and then win it this time.

For Detroit, a win here would be huge. Rod Marinelli's first game as the head coach of the Lions is going to come against a tough team, so the upset would make a statement. Most Lions fans just want to get to .500, others want playoffs. For me, I'd like an 8-win season and then be able to go on from there. Anything better would be a bonus.

I'll be at the game today, so a recap with pictures will be up either tonight or tomorrow. Until then, talk about the game here, and Go Lions!

Seattle is represented here at SB Nation by Field Gulls, a great blog covering the Seahawks. Make sure to head on over there sometime during today's game.
