Starting strong-side linebacker Alex Lewis will most likely be out of this weekend's game against Green Bay. Lewis emerged as a rising talent out of training camp and earned himself the starting job after playing on the weak-side for 2 years before. Great improvement seen by the coaches was just one of the reasons why Lewis had a chance to start this season on defense.
Lewis will not be starting this weekend. He suffered an injury on just the 3rd play of the game at Chicago, and at the time looked to be in quite a bit of pain. The injury itself was a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. Luckily, it will not require surgery, so he'll be listed as week-to-week.
Some other injuries to report are that strong safety Kenoy Kennedy is also listed as week-to-week with a foot injury, and another safety, Jon McGraw suffered a concussion against Chicago. This isn't confirmed, but I believe the concussion came from a big hit put on McGraw during a punt return. Drummond tried to reverse the field and make something out of his return, and McGraw just didn't even see the Bears player coming. Next thing you know, McGraw was hit very hard.
The official injury report will be out soon, so the injuries will be confirmed. Stay tuned for that.
