Following a surgery to replace his left hip on Friday, Lions head coach Rod Marinelli is currently home recovering. Marinelli has walked with a limp all season long due to the a hip problem and had to have his second hip replacement surgery. Prior to Friday, Marinelli had one done on his right hip.
Marinelli was released from the hospital on Monday and is expected to take a couple of weeks to recover in a sense that he will be able to get back to work fully. Right now, he is working from home.
The only thing that this surgery really will affect is the Lions coaching staff working at the Senior Bowl in two weeks.
The staff will be in Mobile, Ala., to evaluate the prospects, but it is unclear whether Marinelli will be there. Practices begin Jan. 22. The game is Jan. 27.
Best wishes to Coach Marinelli while he recovers. I hope to see him back out there evaluation draft prospects soon.
