Lions defensive line coach Joe Cullen received his punishment for two arrests occurring within one week of each other just before the season started. Cullen was sentenced to attend Alcoholics Anonymous twice a week and also to two years of probation. On top of that, Cullen has to pay more than $1600 in fines and court costs.
The Lions and the NFL each suspended Cullen for a game over the course of the 2006 season, meaning he was out for two games in total. No further punishment is expected to come from either party.
The original incidents that brought on all of this controversy were arrests for driving under the influence and driving while nude. Hopefully this is the last time I ever have to write about this situation because it is tiring to read about.
