Detroit to Draft 2007's Mr. Irrelevant

The NFL handed out compensatory picks today for the 2007 NFL Draft and the Lions received one seventh-rounder.  You're probably thinking, "What's so special about a seventh-round draft pick?" Well, it is the final pick of the draft, meaning that Detroit will get to pick this year's Mr. Irrelevant.

Mr. Irrelevant is the title given to the final pick of the draft.  That player then gets to have Irrelevant Week and gets a trophy as well.  They go all out for Mr. Irrelevant.

This will be the fourth time Detroit has had the final pick of an NFL Draft (all in the 50's previously), but the first since Mr. Irrelevant has been around.  It began in 1976.
