Catching Up (Sort Of)

My time has again been consumed by other things (mainly Michigan basketball coach search), but I do have enough time to post a few things.  I hope to have more later, but no promises.

Detroit added more depth to the offensive line.

The Detroit Lions agreed to terms on contracts with veteran guards Edwin Mulitalo and Zach Piller on Sunday.

Lions spokesman Bill Keenist confirmed the deals, but wouldn't discuss the terms. The Detroit Free Press reported Sunday that the team agreed to a three-year deal with Mulitalo and a one-year deal with Piller.

That's not good news for Damien Woody as both may be here to replace him if something goes wrong.

Matt Millen and the Lions have apparently contacted the Chiefs about trading for quarterback Trent Green.  Though it does seem possible, this may be another case of building that look of wanting a QB to build up a trade.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The SB Nation network of football bloggers is going to hold a mock draft starting sometime this week and running into mid-April.  Each blog at the network will pick for his team and others that aren't represented have been accounted for accordingly.

LEAVE YOUR FEEDBACK  Have a player you want Detroit to take a #2 or even in the 2nd or 3rd round?  Leave a comment or start a diary to state that opinion.  I want the readers out there to be involved, so speak up.  I'll have more on this later, but until then, think about what you want Detroit to do with the #2 pick.  I'm going to probably try and trade down, but assuming that doesn't work, should it be Joe Thomas, Calvin Johnson, Brady Quinn, or someone else entirely?
