April Outlook for Pride of Detroit

The month of April is here already and that means that the draft isn't too long from now either. Later this month, the 2007 NFL Draft will take place where all teams will look to improve their rosters.  The Lions specifically will hopefully use the draft as a way to address many of the numerous pressing needs.  Things will be more than interesting as it is likely Detroit will trade down, but with who remains the question.  Matt Millen could certainly help the Lions by moving down and securing more draft picks, but it is Matt Millen.  We'll just have to wait and see.

Until the NFL Draft begins later this month, Pride of Detroit is your place for the latest Lions news regarding the draft.  Over the course of April I will continually update everyone on the SBN Mock Draft, provide player profiles on potential Lions draft picks, discuss the many rumors surrounding the #2 pick, and of course, keep you all up-to-date on the latest Lions news.

The offseason was just getting started in March with a couple of trades and free agency, but now it heats up with the draft.  Also this month is the one-year anniversary of Pride of Detroit, so look for a post commemorating that.  I still can't believe I've been doing this for a year already.

In case you feel a void at any time throughout the next few weeks, make sure to head on over to Bless You Boys, SB Nation's resident Detroit Tigers blog, as opening day for the baseball season is today.  The Tigers will look to make it back to the World Series in 2007, this time in not-so-shocking form.  A year ago I certainly wasn't expecting the Tigers to win it all, but after last year's magical run, they are actually considered the favorites by some media outlets.  The Tigers open their season today against the Blue Jays at Comerica Park.

Get your seat belts fastened as it's draft time.  Until Detroit goes on the clock officially, thanks for reading and Go Lions/Tigers.
