Pride of Detroit Celebrates One Year in the Blogosphere

A year ago to this day, Pride of Detroit was born. It has been a year already since POD officially launched and began posting, and I must say, it has been a blast. I personally can't believe how fast time has gone by as it seems like I was just getting ready for the 2006 NFL Draft, but instead, the 2007 NFL Draft is just a mere day away.

In the past year I have had many great and exciting opportunities. It all started in February 2006 when I launched Michigan Sports Center, a blog dedicated to University of Michigan athletics. Sometime from then to April 2006, I stumbled onto the SportsBlogs Nation network and was intrigued. I checked through the listings to see what Detroit blogs already existed and sent an e-mail to Blez to find out more information.

After applying for the job to write about the Lions, I was in and Pride of Detroit launched just two days prior to the 2006 Draft. I didn't know what to expect considering I didn't have Lions blog before POD was created, but nonetheless, I was ready for the challenge.

In the last year, I have had the chance to work with a countless number of other great writers here in the NFL section and in general at SBN. As a whole, the network has grown rapidly and has a promising future.

I just want to give a big thanks to everyone who has visited Pride of Detroit in the last year, all of the guys behind the scenes here at SBN, and my fellow writers at the network. Here's to another great year of covering the Lions, but this time, hopefully the actual team plays better.
