Detroit to Open 2007 Preseason Against Cincinnati

The NFL released its 2007 preseason schedule earlier this week and the Lions are set to face four AFC teams, including the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts.

2007 Lions Preseason Schedule
Date Opponent Time TV
Week 1 (August 9-13) vs. Cincinnati Bengals TBD WKBD-TV CW 50
Week 2 (August 16-20) @ Cleveland Browns TBD WKBD-TV CW 50
Week 3 (August 23-27) @ Indianapolis Colts TBD WKBD-TV CW 50
Week 4 (August 28 - Sept. 2) vs. Buffalo Bills TBD WKBD-TV CW 50

Two usual opponents are back on the preseason schedule again for 2007. First, the Cleveland Browns are on the schedule for the annual rivalry game in the preseason. Both teams play each preseason now and always have a close game. The Lions lost last preseason at Cleveland 20-16. The Buffalo Bills also return to the preseason schedule again. In 2006, the Bills beat the Lions 20-13 in another close loss.

Detroit will hope to improve its preseason schedule from a year ago after going a dismal 1-3 that was a sign of bad things to come.

The entire regular season schedule was supposed to be unveiled on Thursday, but was delayed. We should know at the latest by April 19.
