Lions Sign Offensive Lineman Ed Mulitalo

The Lions added more depth to their offensive line last week as they signed guard Ed Mulitalo. Mulitalo played for the Ravens last season and will serve as a nice addition to the Lions O-line.

Here are the details.

Offensive lineman Edward Mulitalo, cut by Baltimore last month, was signed by Detroit to a three-year contract Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 350-pound Mulitalo was the Ravens' starting left guard for eight seasons. He has played in 106 regular-season games and seven postseason games, including the 2000 Super Bowl.

Mulitalo started the first four games of the 2006 season and helped Baltimore get off to its first 4-0 start in franchise history before he suffered a season-ending triceps injury against San Diego.

Damien Woody will have to continue to work hard as this is just another sign that he could be on his way out.  Although it isn't a definite thing, adding another guard can't be good news for Woody.
