Lions' Home Finale Blacked Out

For the fifth time this season, the Lions will be blacked out on local TV.

Sunday’s Lions game against New Orleans will be blacked out on local television after the team failed to reach a sellout by today’s 1 p.m. deadline.

The team did not announce how many tickets remained for the 1 p.m. game at Ford Field. As of Wednesday afternoon, the number was about 9,000.

There have only been seven NFL games blacked out this season, and the Lions have accounted for five of them.  It is truly pathetic, but I'm honestly surprised there aren't more tickets available for the Saints game.  With the economy in the toilet, especially in Michigan, I would have expected more people to stay home.  Paying to go watch an 0-14 team just doesn't seem like a very fun experience.
