Lions to Open Up Training Camp Practices to Public

For the second year in a row, the Lions are making some of their training camp practices available for public viewing.  In 2007 the Lions did the same thing on a limited basis, but this year fans will have more opportunities to get a look at the team.

Practice will be open to fans on July 29, Aug. 1 and Aug. 4-5. There are double practices all four days. Admission will be for 700 fans to each practice, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Other practices will be open for fans who have season tickets (July 24-29), suite and club-seat holders and sponsors (July 30).

In all, 22 practices will be open to the public. Players report to training camp on Wednesday. The first practice is Thursday morning.

Usual starting times for practices are 8:35 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Viewing for fans will be in bleachers and standing areas.

If there are any days where the weather is bad -- since we're in Michigan, it's assumed there will be at least one -- then practice will be moved to the Lions' indoor facility.  Unfortunately, there is no room for fans inside, so the Lions likely would reschedule the open practice for fans or just cancel it altogether.
