Gosder Cherilus Signs a Five-Year Deal

With the start of training camp rapidly approaching, the Lions thankfully have signed their first-round pick.  Right tackle Gosder Cherilus was signed to a five-year deal earlier today, and since he has a contract, he only ended up missing a team meeting.  That means that he will be available to practice tomorrow morning, which is very important for someone that will contend for the starting job at right tackle.

Now that Gos has a deal, the only Lions rookie without one is second-round pick Jordon Dizon.  I'm not sure what is causing the delay, but Dizon would be wise to get a deal as soon as possible considering he is also going to contend for a starting job; that is, if Takeo Spikes doesn't get signed.

Pride of Detroit will have the latest on Jordon Dizon's contract situation and much more regarding the Lions' first day of training camp tomorrow.
